News & Notes provides users with all the latest updates, news and announcements about the Mansfield FFA.
JOIN FFA! - Now is the time to join FFA. The process is simple! Just turn in an SIS form and pay your dues for the year. This year FFA dues are $12. The website explains the breakdown for dues. You may either pay your dues by cash or check OR you can participate in the chapter's fall fundraisers to earn enough FFA BUCKS to cover your dues for 2008-09.
JUNE FFA MEETING - The next chapter meeting for Mansfield FFA will be Monday, June 23 at 7pm in the Ag Center.
STATE & NATIONAL CONVENTION UPDATE - State Convention totals will be available by Thursday afternoon. All balances will be due prior to departure. National Convention applications are still available!There is a $50 deposit to hold your spot. Applications and deposits for National Convention are due Monday, July 14. Don't miss out on the fun!
381 CLAYS PROGRAM - This upcoming year will be the introductory year for this addition to the Wildlife and Recreation Management course. In short, this is a program through Texas Parks and Wildlife and involves shotgun sports. Keep an eye on the home page and the calendar for more info and practice times as it comes available.
OFFICER ELECTIONS - Officer elections for 2008-2009 were held at the May FFA meeting. The following students were elected: Tyler Brown, President; Leilani Cullum, Vice President; Amber Steinle, Secretary; Ryan Gilbert, Treasurer; Camiel Finger, Reporter; Emilie Thomason, Historian; Justin Porterfield, Sentinel; Brian Bower, Asst Vice President; Trysten Taylor, Asst Secretary; Cody Markwood, Asst Treasurer; Bridget Hughes, Asst Reporter; Foluke Okolo, Asst Historian; and Kirk Youngblood, Asst Sentinel. Congratulations!
ALUMNI
MEETING - The next meeting for Mansfield Alumni chapter will be held in August at 7pm in the Ag Center. Date to be announced later. All parents/guardians & interested adults are encouraged to attend!
FUNDRAISERS - There are still cookies and some meat products available from the fall fundraisers that must go! NOTE: FFA bucks expire August 1st!!!
TRI-CHAPTER UPDATE - All remaining ribbons and paychecks should be picked-up as soon as possible.
AG CENTER - Pens and stalls are currently available for students who need a place to house their SAE project. There are stalls/pens for rabbits, poultry, sheep, goats, cattle and horses. See an AST or Click Here for the page that contains an application and information. Don't forget that rent is due on the 5th of each month!! JUNE rent is now due!
