2009 MANSFIELD CHAPTER OFFICER ELECTIONS AND FFA BANQUET

Every year the Mansfield FFA advisors select a group of members to plan the annual awards banquet. This serves as a time to congratulate students on jobs well done, recognize outstanding supporters, and salute graduating senior members. This year, the committee hopes to spice things up a bit by adding new things in order to make it a night to remember. The following members have been selected for the 2009 Banquet Planning Committee: Justin Porterfield, Leilani Cullum, Tyler Brown, Sarah Chopin, Cody Markwood, Dominique Ramirez, Clay Jordan, and Caitlyn Cain.

The 2009-10 Chapter Officer elections will be held prior to the banquet, with officers being installed at the banquet itself. Those members who are interested in running for an office need to obtain an Officer Application, or click HERE to download the form. All applications are due on March 27. Candidates will receive materials and more information at this time.

The 2009 Mansfield FFA Chapter Banquet has been scheduled for Monday, May 11 in the Ben Barber commons area. Doors will open at 6:30pm with dinner being served around 7. Tickets will go on sale in April and will cost approximately $16.

Hill College Credit

Several of the 2010-11 courses will offer college credit as well as high school credit. These include Agribusiness, Farm & Ranch Management, Wildlife & Recreational Management, Turfgrass, and Advanced Animal Science. There will also be an online Entomology course that will offer college credit only.

All courses will be offered through Hill College and will cost approximately $320. Forms can be obtained from any Ag Science Teacher and must be returned with an official transcript, and an official TAKS score sheet by August 1, 2009. All students must also apply online at www.hillcollege.edu by then as well.

We will hand deliver all forms to Hill College to ensure that the students get registered for the spring semester. All payments, or payment plans, must be received or established by Hill no later than August. Payments and plans can be accessed online once the student is registered.

If you have registered for a Hill College Class, you need to start working on getting your forms and applications in so that you may be registered with Hill at the beginning of school.

If you have any questions or are interested in registering for a course, contact us via email at ffa@mansfieldisd.org or at 817-473-5450.
